Welcome to Stafford Heights State School |
Scholastic Bookfair
Our annual Bookfair will be open during the last week of Term 1. The Book Fair offers a wide range of books, including popular series, new releases, picture, chapter, fiction, non-fiction, activity and other great reads from more than 60 publishers.
Opening times are:
- Monday 26th March 3.00-5.30pm
- Tuesday 27th March 8.00-8.45am
- Wednesday 28th March 1.45-3pm at the Teddy Bear's Picnic.
Funds raised help purchase books for our school. Families and the community are invited to attend this fun reading event that helps inspire children to become lifelong readers.
There is also a chance that the famous Geronimo Stilton will attend our Fair on Monday afternoon and possibly at the Teddy Bear's Picnic as well. Bring your camera so that you can capture the special moment.

Aquatic Wonders Swim Schools
Learn to swim classes, stroke correction and squad training are being conducted at the school pool by Brett from Aquatic Wonders Swim School. The summer program is currently under way and a School Holiday Program is available for bookings now. See below in Latest News for more information about available classes.
Volunteers and Blue cards
With the exception of parents and immediate guardians of our students, all volunteers assisting at the school MUST hold a blue card (Working with Children card). This includes grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and siblings over the age of 18 years. The office can help people apply for a volunteer's Blue card.
Absences Email address
The school now has an email address specifically for absences.
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
(please note the capital A!)
Alternatively, you can still contact the school office on 3621 2333. If no notification of an absence is received, your child will have an unexplained absence recorded on both their roll and report card.
Changes to school holidays
After an overwhelming response to its recent survey on proposed holidays, the Queensland Government is introducing the following changes.
The Queen's Birthday holiday has been moved from June to the first Monday in October, with a Queen's Diamond Jubilee Holiday for 2012 only on Monday 11 June.
Student-free days will be shifted to create a two-week break at Easter making it easier to plan a break, keeping the length of the school terms more consistent and easing disruption for families.
